Friday night saw the first of what will hopefully be many excursions to KOKO. We did a guest slot in the Brainlove room way at the top of KOKO at Club NME, providing a respite from the Kasabian and Libertines soundtrack in the main room.
Our 2 hour set was way more electro than what you’d normally get at our regular stint at the Boog and we soon found ourselves playing to a packed room. Total buzz because normally it doesn’t pick up till after midnight, but it was rammed by about 11.30.
One of the big hits was a track that on paper is my worst nightmare – remix of a Ting Tings track by Calvin Harris. Katie and Heledd are fans of both but to be honest I couldn’t stand either until I heard this track. I wouldn’t go so far as to say I’m now a convert of either artist, but it’s a kick ass track.
No doubt it was all over the blogosphere at this time last century, but I figure it’s time to kick this steaming pile of blawg into the MP3-O-Sphere.
