It’s not often a DJ outside of a wedding or bar mitzvah asks you to do this, but we want you to tell us what to play.
Thus, last month’s Round Our Gaff was an experiment in getting you all involved in the playlist and it worked smashingly. We asked you to post your top 3 songs you like to flail around drunkenly to. We used those to compile a random list of songs to play throughout the evening. (Although we think we’ve got pretty good taste, we’re not of the “We’re hipper than you could ever hope to be” school of DJing.)
For an extra twist we got a sackful of prizes blagged from record labels and bought from the charity shop for eagle-eared Gaffers to choose from when a song from the list was played. Amongst the delights on offer were CDs and vinyl from some very cool artists and labels (Wall of Sound & Warp Records to name a couple), a t-shirt with willies all over it, a set of fake moustaches, a Bros 7-inch, and Free Booze.
It was a roaring success, so we’ve decided to do this all the time. We had tons of great suggestions last time, but we need them before the night, so please post your top 3 songs on this month’s event wall here:
